This one day conference will feature a range of high profile speakers, keynote speeches, case studies, master class and workshop sessions which aim to help you deliver solutions to the skills issues facing the UK's Process Industries, which encompases Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Polymers. The conference will:

  • Present the Academy's Products & Services designed and developed in consultation with representative employers from
    the Process Industry
  • Facilitate networking between training providers and employers to effectively establish a UK wide training infrastructure that supports the sectors needs

The conference will take place on Thursday 30 April 2009 at York Racecourse. The venue offers excellent conference facilities and is easily accessible by road and rail. Delegate tickets are priced at £295 plus VAT. The registration fee includes attendance at all keynotes, seminars, entrance to the exhibition, lunch, coffee breaks, reception drinks and the conference dinner. There are a number of other ticket options available including dinner only £85 + VAT, table of ten at dinner £750 + VAT and conference only £265 + VAT. The conference will run from 9.00am - 5.00pm, the dinner 7.30pm - 11.30pm.

The Skills Academy aims to create a highly skilled workforce capable of competing on a global stage as well as promoting the Process Industries as a progressive and exciting career choice.

Its main aim is to encourage employers to engage in frontline staff training so that their current workforce can achieve accredited qualifications to an industry-wide Gold Standard.

The Skills Academy will also work alongside training providers and educational bodies to ensure that more people enter the sector equipped with the skills the industry needs.
